Unlike the 3-piece penile implants, pump contains the fluid and is located in the scrotum.

For the same reason, a 2-piece penile implant has a lower risk of getting damaged. Deflation is also easy; one just has to bend the penis towards it end, and the fluid moves back into the pump. Naturally, 2-piece penile implants are gaining popularity among men considering implants in the first place. However, there is one drawback to the device: since the pump contains the fluid and has to be fitted inside the scrotum, the amount of fluid contained is lower than a 3-piece implant. This could result in insufficient erection and lower satisfaction.
